Course overview

Microsoft connects Azure management tools with the security decisions needed to protect an environment. Monitoring, serverless technology, IoT and AI service selection provide the setting for the lessons. The course then examines application, data and network protection, helping learners explain why a tool fits a business scenario instead of choosing it solely because its name is familiar.

What you will learn

  • Compare Azure management and monitoring tools.
  • Explore serverless, IoT and AI service scenarios.
  • Review application, data and network protection.

Who this suits

Beginner by the provider’s label, with basic computing, English proficiency and general IT knowledge expected. Familiarity with APIs is useful. This course follows the introductory Azure course in Microsoft’s program.

Before you enroll

A completion certificate is separate from Microsoft certification. Exam registration, requirements and fees should be checked on the current official AZ-900 page. Azure demonstrations can incur charges; review the resources and pricing before creating them, practice with fictional data and remove unused resources afterwards. Portal names and interfaces change, so compare older demonstrations with current Microsoft documentation. A foundations course develops service-selection knowledge rather than proving that a learner can operate a production cloud environment independently.

Coursera offers paid enrollment or subscription access. Check the enrollment screen for assessment and certificate terms, trials and any financial-aid options. Provider access terms can change; review them before paying.

Put it into practice

Write a short monitoring and access plan for a fictional cloud application. Name the signals you would watch, distinguish application and network responsibilities and explain when an event should be investigated.
