Course overview

Whizlabs moves from cloud-computing models into the Azure portal and the core services used by an infrastructure team. Virtual machines, availability options and scale sets provide the compute examples. Storage, redundancy, encryption and Microsoft Entra ID follow, giving beginners a practical way to connect service explanations with the configuration choices shown in demonstrations.

What you will learn

  • Compare cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Explore Azure virtual machines and availability options.
  • Review storage, redundancy and Entra identity.

Who this suits

Beginner by the provider’s label. Basic computer and IT familiarity is recommended; networking knowledge helps. The eight-hour estimate includes readings, demonstrations and assignments, with separate Azure charges possible for independent practice.

Before you enroll

A completion certificate is separate from Microsoft certification. Exam registration, requirements and fees should be checked on the current official AZ-900 page. Azure demonstrations can incur charges; review the resources and pricing before creating them, practice with fictional data and remove unused resources afterwards. Portal names and interfaces change, so compare older demonstrations with current Microsoft documentation. A foundations course develops service-selection knowledge rather than proving that a learner can operate a production cloud environment independently.

Coursera offers paid enrollment or subscription access. Check the enrollment screen for assessment and certificate terms, trials and any financial-aid options. Provider access terms can change; review them before paying.

Put it into practice

Outline a fictional virtual-machine workload with an availability requirement. Explain its storage and identity needs, identify the resources that would incur charges and describe what you would remove after a practice session.
