n8n connects triggers, application actions, and processing steps in a visual workflow. AI nodes can add classification or generation, but the surrounding data flow still determines whether the automation works. Start with a recurring task whose result you can check.
Compare a fundamentals-led course with a longer collection of agent and voice projects. No-code lessons still require understanding fields, credentials, APIs, and the services being connected. Check cloud or self-hosting requirements, model usage charges, and which templates depend on additional products.
n8n Academy's Foundations sequence begins with N8N101 Essentials, continues with N8N102 Integrations, and finishes with N8N103 AI, Testing & Best Practices. Start with Essentials if data mapping is unfamiliar. Choose Integrations when the difficult part is an API, authentication, or webhook. The two Udemy options in this collection offer longer project-led routes; compare their previews and required services before paying for examples you may not need.
The three official Foundations courses are free and award completion certificates and badges after their graded requirements. These are distinct from n8n's separate professional certification program. You still need an n8n instance, and the AI course needs a model API key. A cloud trial, self-hosting resources, and model usage have separate limits and costs. Choose a learning setup you can maintain long enough to finish the exercises.
Build a form-to-spreadsheet workflow using sample data before adding AI classification. Test a missing field, duplicate event, and unavailable service. Route uncertain results to a review queue and document how a failed run can be retried.
