Course overview

The final Foundations course connects AI workflows with testing and maintenance. Lessons cover agents, tools, memory, execution logs, error handling, documentation, and recovery. The provider's three-to-four-hour estimate describes the course; investigating an unfamiliar failure can take longer than watching its demonstration.

What you will learn

  • Distinguish an AI chain from an agent workflow
  • Connect tools and memory to an AI Agent node
  • Use execution logs to investigate failed steps
  • Organize reusable workflows and document recovery procedures

Who this suits

Choose this after you can build workflows, make HTTP requests, and explain authentication and error handling. It is especially useful when a promising AI demonstration needs a clearer operating procedure. Beginners should work through Essentials and Integrations before adding model behavior to the problem.

Before you enroll

An n8n instance and a chat-model API key are required. Examples use Groq, but provider availability, credits, and usage limits vary. Review what data your exercise sends to a model and use fictional records while learning.

The course itself is free. Hosting and model usage are separate costs. Passing the graded activities with at least 70% earns a certificate of completion and badge; these do not represent the separate n8n professional certification.

Put it into practice

Build a classifier that suggests a label for a fictional support request. Keep the result in a review queue rather than sending a message automatically. Test an ambiguous request, a malformed response, and an unavailable model, then document what the next operator should do.
