Course overview

Full Stack Open expects you to write and submit code rather than only watch demonstrations. The core course connects React interfaces to Node.js services and database-backed behavior. Additional parts extend the same learning approach into areas such as TypeScript and delivery tooling, allowing you to deepen a project after the basic application works.

What you will learn

  • Connect React interfaces to Node.js APIs
  • Model persistent application data
  • Write tests for frontend and backend behavior
  • Explore TypeScript and application delivery topics

Who this suits

A good choice after an introductory programming course. The course expects basic programming ability and enough independence to investigate errors. If JavaScript functions and arrays still require constant help, a shorter foundation course will make this curriculum much more productive.

Before you enroll

Exercise work is the point, so progress can feel slower than a video course. Keep a consistent repository history and explain each change in your own words. The course's certificates and any university credit arrangements have specific submission and eligibility rules.

Course materials are free. Certificate and credit information is published by the course; check the requirements for your chosen parts and enrollment route.

Put it into practice

For each submitted feature, write down one failure case and add a check that demonstrates how the application responds.
