Explore Spring Boot setup, REST services, beans and application configuration through Pearson’s Intermediate full-stack foundations course.

Pearson’s foundations unit focuses on the Spring side of a React and Spring Boot pathway. Lessons cover project setup with the CLI and IntelliJ, console and web applications, and the role of beans and components. Configuration classes, autowiring and application contexts explain how a Spring application is assembled before later units connect a richer frontend.
The provider lists an Intermediate level. Prior Java programming and basic HTTP knowledge are useful preparation, even though no detailed prerequisite is published in the reviewed metadata. This is not a from-zero Java or React course.
The listed workload is about five and a half hours, including assessment. This unit belongs to a larger specialization; the individual course is a focused foundation and does not include the whole program. Framework and IDE versions change, so compare setup instructions with current documentation when commands differ. Budget separate practice time to explain configuration choices rather than relying on a successfully copied example as proof of understanding.
Coursera offers paid enrollment or subscription access. Check the enrollment screen for assessment and certificate terms, trials and any financial-aid options. Provider access terms can change; review them before paying.
Create a minimal Spring Boot service with a component supplied through dependency injection. Add a simple endpoint, change one setting through configuration, and document how the application context supplies the dependency used by your controller.
