PaidModern Robotics: Mechanics, Planning, and Control
A mathematical robotics sequence covering robot motion, kinematics, dynamics, planning, and control, supported by programming exercises.
Northwestern University — Kevin Lynch
Explore Northwestern’s Modern Robotics capstone, combining trajectory planning, odometry and feedback control in a simulated mobile manipulation project.

The final Modern Robotics course asks learners to integrate earlier material in a mobile pick-and-place project. A wheeled base and arm must be controlled together. It is an application and debugging exercise for the sequence, with a more substantial starting requirement than an introductory robotics class.
Learners who have completed the earlier Modern Robotics courses or can already use their modeling, planning and control techniques.
The mathematical and programming demands vary sharply across robotics courses. Preview the exercises and software setup before enrolling. Use simulations for independent practice; course completion alone does not prepare someone to operate an industrial robot safely.
Coursera offers paid enrollment or subscription access. Check the enrollment screen for assessment and certificate terms, trials and any financial-aid options. Provider access terms can change; review them before paying.
Keep a simulation log for the pick-and-place task, recording tracking error and the effect of one controller change at a time.
This overview is based on the provider's published information, checked on . It is an editorial assessment, not a claim that we completed the resource. Time filters are approximate study ranges; projects and exercises can take longer.
