About Software Testing

Software testing checks whether a system behaves as intended under specified conditions. Browser tests are especially useful for important user workflows, but they need clear expectations and reliable test data. A passing screenshot alone does not establish correct behavior.

Choose a useful starting point

The official Playwright guide introduces writing browser tests. Start with a meaningful flow and selectors that describe the interface clearly. Separate failures in application behavior from failures caused by setup, timing assumptions, or an unavailable external service.

Build on the lessons

Test a successful action and a realistic failure. Check the resulting state or data, not only whether a button was clicked. Keep the test focused enough that its failure explains what broke.
