About TypeScript

TypeScript adds a static type system to JavaScript. It can make contracts and mistakes more visible while leaving JavaScript's runtime behavior in place. Learning the two together is important: a successful type check does not mean every external value is valid.

Choose a useful starting point

Start with JavaScript functions, objects, and arrays before a broad TypeScript guide. Look for narrowing, unions, generics, and practical configuration explained through real problems. Prefer exercises that make a model clearer over complicated type expressions introduced without a need.

Build on the lessons

Convert a small JavaScript module and describe its input and output types. Test a value arriving from outside the program and decide where runtime validation belongs. Avoid using a type assertion only to silence a mismatch you have not understood.
