The University of Pennsylvania follows Aristotle’s philosophical system into later ancient schools. Categories and natural philosophy provide context for ethics, followed by Epicurean and Stoic perspectives. This makes it an alternative to a broad survey when you want to see how accounts of reality, knowledge and a good life fit together.
The provider lists mixed levels. Previous exposure to ancient philosophy helps, but close reading and willingness to reconstruct unfamiliar arguments are central.
Modern self-help slogans can flatten these traditions. Pay attention to the original problems and arguments before applying an ancient concept to a contemporary decision.
