The second Edinburgh course turns toward philosophical questions about religion, mind and disagreement. Its public outline includes religious hiddenness, fundamentalism and intellectual virtues in science and religion. It is particularly useful for comparing the structure of arguments and the standards people use when evaluating beliefs they do not share.
This beginner-labeled course welcomes philosophical curiosity. The related first course provides context, while careful reading matters more than adopting a particular religious position.
An academic discussion of a belief is different from endorsement or dismissal. Keep descriptive claims separate from the conclusions the arguments are meant to support.
