HTML describes a document's structure and meaning; CSS controls its presentation. Together they are the foundation of web interfaces, including applications built with JavaScript frameworks. Learning them directly makes layout problems and accessibility decisions easier to diagnose.
Choose material that explains semantic elements, the box model, layout, and responsive behavior. Build a form and a small multi-section page before relying on component libraries. Inspect the result in the browser rather than assuming a screenshot proves the structure is sound.
Recreate a simple page with your own content, then test narrow screens, keyboard navigation, and longer text. Explain why each element and layout rule exists. Add JavaScript after the document works as a useful starting point.
