Course overview

Wiley’s second AutoCAD course turns basic geometry into organized documentation. Nine modules cover paper space, text, dimensions, hatching, plotting, blocks, arrays, external references and parametric tools. The emphasis is on consistent and reusable drawing information, with reading-based instruction and assessments adapted from AutoCAD For Dummies.

What you will learn

  • Configure paper-space layouts and viewports
  • Apply dimensions, text and reusable blocks
  • Manage references, constraints and plotting workflows

Who this suits

The Intermediate level recommends experience with basic AutoCAD drawing and editing tools. It is appropriate after a fundamentals course or comparable practice, rather than as the first exposure to the software.

Before you enroll

The nine-hour estimate includes readings and assessments, with only brief overview videos. AutoCAD access and any printing costs are separate. Source material is based on a 2022 book, so verify commands and supported features in your version. A clear plotted sheet is not proof that its design meets technical requirements. Treat this as drafting education and keep project standards, review procedures and any professional approvals separate from the course certificate.

Coursera offers paid enrollment or subscription access. Check the enrollment screen for assessment and certificate terms, trials and any financial-aid options. Provider access terms can change; review them before paying.

Put it into practice

Turn a small original drawing into a documented sheet with a title area, scaled viewport and dimensions. Reuse one block, update a reference and inspect the plotted result for legibility, scale and missing information.
