Christopher Main and Christen Main focus on the player’s experience across interfaces, objectives and repeated actions. Four modules examine UX principles, accessibility, categories of game experience and loops at different timescales. Assignments encourage learners to connect those concepts to decisions about a proposed game.
The provider lists Beginner and no required prior experience, but recommends its preceding four game-design courses. Learners with some game or Unreal Engine familiarity will have more context for the examples.
The approximately ten-hour workload includes discussion and assessed work. This is one course within a larger certificate pathway. Accessibility is a design and testing responsibility: a checklist or completion certificate does not demonstrate that an interface works for every player. Plan to gather feedback from people with different needs.
Coursera offers paid enrollment or subscription access. Check the enrollment screen for assessment and certificate terms, trials and any financial-aid options. Provider access terms can change; review them before paying.
