Course overview

Packt connects Playwright browser interactions with pytest and a maintainable test structure. Authentication, fixtures, page objects, API checks and network events extend the early locator and action lessons. It suits Python learners who want to understand how an individual test becomes part of a repeatable suite and how the suite supplies useful evidence when a user flow fails.

What you will learn

  • Automate browser actions and web-first assertions.
  • Organize pytest fixtures, data and page objects.
  • Explore API checks, network events and CI execution.

Who this suits

Intermediate by the provider’s label. Basic Python knowledge is recommended; previous Playwright or pytest experience is not required. The syllabus includes introductory and more applied testing sections.

Before you enroll

Use a local application or a site that explicitly permits test automation, with fictional accounts and records. Keep authentication state and credentials out of shared repositories and reports. Match examples with the current Playwright and language versions; hosted CI or visual-testing services may cost extra. Stable automation depends on meaningful assertions, controlled data and useful failure evidence as well as a passing run.

Coursera offers paid enrollment or subscription access. Check the enrollment screen for assessment and certificate terms, trials and any financial-aid options. Provider access terms can change; review them before paying.

Put it into practice

Automate a fictional local login flow with a page object and fixture. Test an invalid login as well as a valid one, then explain which trace or report would help investigate a failure.
