Course overview

Packt gives framework structure a dedicated sequence, starting with project architecture and configuration before adding utilities, page objects and reporting. It suits learners who can already write basic Python and want to explain how a test project stays understandable as it grows. The emphasis is on organizing responsibilities and evidence, rather than accumulating more independent scripts with repeated setup.

What you will learn

  • Design project architecture and shared configuration.
  • Build utilities and page objects for browser tests.
  • Explore data-driven checks and automated reports.

Who this suits

Intermediate QA engineers, test developers and SDETs with basic Python skills. This architecture-focused course has a separate lesson sequence from Packt’s broader Playwright and pytest introduction.

Before you enroll

Use a local application or a site that explicitly permits test automation, with fictional accounts and records. Keep authentication state and credentials out of shared repositories and reports. Match examples with the current Playwright and language versions; hosted CI or visual-testing services may cost extra. Stable automation depends on meaningful assertions, controlled data and useful failure evidence as well as a passing run.

Coursera offers paid enrollment or subscription access. Check the enrollment screen for assessment and certificate terms, trials and any financial-aid options. Provider access terms can change; review them before paying.

Put it into practice

Reorganize three fictional local tests into a small project. Explain what belongs in a page object, fixture and test assertion, then demonstrate how one configuration change reaches all three tests.
