Skillshare — Lancelot Hueston

Lancelot Hueston connects steady strumming with transitions between open, power and barre chords. Counting subdivisions and practicing with a metronome give the changes a rhythmic context. It suits beginners who already know a few chords but lose the pulse when changing shape, and who want a practical way to separate a fingering problem from a timing problem.
Beginner by the provider’s label, although the description expects basic holding, strumming and chord familiarity. The workload includes readings, assessments and practice activities rather than the same number of video hours. No previous rhythm training is required.
Plan regular playing practice alongside the lessons, using a tuned instrument and a tempo that lets every note sound clearly. Increase difficulty gradually and take breaks when your hands need them. A long video total is not a prediction of how quickly you will play well. Check whether the demonstrations require an acoustic guitar, an electric guitar or an amplifier, and use recordings to compare timing and tone over time.

Choose two familiar chords and play four bars of a simple strumming pattern. Record the change, identify the point where the pulse shifts and practice that transition separately before repeating the full pattern.
