Michigan State University — Brian Winn
Michigan State’s third Unity course introduces 3D shooter development with game assets, level design, balancing, prototyping and playtesting.

The third course in Michigan State’s sequence moves the project work into a 3D shooter. Its design focus includes assets, levels, balance and iterative improvement. It is useful when you want practice connecting a working Unity scene with evidence from players, rather than treating a finished build as the end of development.
Complete the preceding 2D platformer course or bring equivalent skills. The provider labels this intermediate and assumes familiarity with the sequence’s development process.
Asset creation, level design and programming compete for time. Keep the prototype small enough to test, and check licenses before adding external art or sound.
Coursera lists paid enrollment or subscription access. Check the enrollment screen for included assessments, certificate terms, trials and any financial-aid options. University authorship does not by itself confer admission, academic credit or a professional license.
Build one encounter and ask two players to attempt it. Compare their paths and failures, then revise one design variable while preserving the rest of the encounter.
