Michigan connects environmental questions with market failures and economic evaluation. Nonmarket valuation and regulation lead into discounting, benefit-cost analysis, energy transition and climate policy. This course is useful for learners who want to examine the reasoning behind a policy assessment rather than read a general introduction to environmental issues.
The course is labeled beginner level, but Michigan requires introductory microeconomic principles related to market analysis.
