Course overview

Part 7 introduces visual programming inside Live. It moves from finding and understanding patches to the Max interface, interaction, basic building blocks, a MIDI sequence and audio objects. The later beat-based EQ example connects patch construction with a musical application rather than treating programming as an isolated exercise.

What you will learn

  • Read and connect Max patch objects
  • Build a small MIDI sequence
  • Relate audio objects to a musical processor

Who this suits

Useful for a Live user ready to experiment with device construction and debug a patch, with enough basic DAW familiarity to test it in a session.

Before you enroll

The video syllabus runs about three hours and 25 minutes. Max for Live requires Live Suite or the add-on for Live Standard; Ableton says Intro and Lite are unsupported. The course fee does not include those licenses. Earlier Live study is helpful, and patching exercises require extra time.

Udemy offers paid purchase or subscription access depending on the current course and region. Paid teaching courses provide completion certificates under Udemy’s policy. Check current access terms and any separate software or material costs before enrolling.

Put it into practice

Build a short MIDI patch, label the objects and test one change at a time. Save a working version before experimenting, then explain how input values affect the resulting musical pattern.
