Course overview

Part 2 concentrates on getting material into Live and controlling its timing. Audio recording and MIDI recording form the two largest foundations, followed by tuning systems, warping and session organization. The taught sequence gives recording decisions more attention than the brief overview in the introductory course.

What you will learn

  • Set up audio and MIDI recording
  • Warp recorded material to project timing
  • Organize recorded tracks and takes

Who this suits

Useful for a Live user preparing to record instruments, vocals or MIDI performances and needing a structured explanation of capture and timing workflows.

Before you enroll

The provider says Part 1 is helpful rather than mandatory and does not demand music theory experience. About four hours and five minutes of video are listed. Have suitable software and any recording hardware available; their costs are separate. Treat quoted trial terms as something to verify with Ableton.

Udemy offers paid purchase or subscription access depending on the current course and region. Paid teaching courses provide completion certificates under Udemy’s policy. Check current access terms and any separate software or material costs before enrolling.

Put it into practice

Record a short performance, keep the unedited take, and create a timing-adjusted copy. Compare both at the same level and document which changes improved the phrase and which removed its character.
