Ableton's Learning Music lets you change a musical pattern and hear the result immediately. Beats, bass, chords, and melody become things to experiment with rather than terms that must be mastered before starting. The browser format makes this a low-friction first step for a learner who does not yet have music software.
A good starting point if you are curious about making music but have little theory or production experience. Headphones and a browser are enough to begin. Change one part at a time so you can connect a specific decision with the difference you hear.
The small interactive instruments simplify a much larger production process. They do not teach the full workflow of recording, editing, mixing, and exporting a finished track. Use the exercises to discover which musical questions you want to pursue before choosing more complex software.
The interactive lessons are free in the browser. Purchasing Ableton Live is not required for this collection, and no completion certificate is offered.
Make two versions of a short pattern with the same melody but different rhythms, then describe how the feel changes.
