Computer vision extracts information from images or video. Image processing, classification, and object detection require different outputs and evaluation methods. The conditions in which pictures are captured often matter as much as the choice of model.
Choose a useful starting point
Compare OpenCV-oriented lessons with deeper neural-network study. Check programming requirements, example datasets, and library versions. A face-recognition demonstration is an educational example; it does not establish dependable performance across people, cameras, and real-world conditions.
Build on the lessons
Build a small image classifier or detector over an appropriate public dataset. Evaluate changes in lighting, viewpoint, and background using held-out images. Record false positives and false negatives separately and explain where the system should decline to decide.
