Rice University — Jason Hafner
Study magnetic fields, their sources and electromagnetic induction in Rice’s intermediate electricity-and-magnetism course on Coursera.

This Rice course develops magnetic fields and their sources before introducing Faraday’s law. The sequence connects moving charges and currents with magnetic effects, then examines how changing fields relate to induced electrical behavior. It offers a focused mathematical progression for learners who have already studied the earlier electricity material.
The provider recommends the preceding courses plus algebra and trigonometry. Vectors, electric fields and circuit basics are important preparation for the examples.
Direction conventions can be as important as numerical magnitudes. Keep the geometry and the sign of a changing flux visible throughout an induction calculation.
Coursera lists paid enrollment or subscription access. Check the enrollment screen for included assessments, certificate terms, trials and any financial-aid options. University authorship does not by itself confer admission, academic credit or a professional license.
Sketch a loop entering a magnetic-field region and predict the direction of induced current. Explain the energy argument supporting that prediction before writing an equation.
