Course overview

Packt follows API communication from browser DevTools into Postman and curl, then connects that evidence with AI-assisted testing and pipelines. Exported request logs introduce another way to inspect a problem. It suits developers who want to understand the requests behind an interface and evaluate a generated test against the actual API contract before accepting it as useful coverage.

What you will learn

  • Inspect browser API communication with DevTools.
  • Connect Postman and curl testing workflows.
  • Review AI-assisted checks, request logs and CI execution.

Who this suits

Intermediate learners with API and automation-tool knowledge. Inspect exported HAR files for credentials or private data before sharing them with a tool or another person; the course includes safe-handling discussion.

Before you enroll

Practice against a local or explicitly permitted API with fictional records. Keep tokens and credentials out of shared collections, repositories, screenshots and exported request logs. Match examples with the current Postman interface and plan limits; cloud collaboration or other tools may cost extra. A successful response is only one test outcome: consider invalid input, permissions and repeatable execution before relying on a collection.

Coursera offers paid enrollment or subscription access. Check the enrollment screen for assessment and certificate terms, trials and any financial-aid options. Provider access terms can change; review them before paying.

Put it into practice

Inspect a fictional local application request and reproduce it in Postman. Draft a test with AI assistance, verify each assertion against the contract and explain which data must be removed from a shared request log.
