Course overview

EDUCBA connects Postman setup with a repeatable API-testing workflow. Requests, collections and variables provide the structure, while validation, debugging and Newman introduce automated execution. It suits learners who want to move beyond sending an isolated request and explain how a collection produces useful evidence about the behavior of an API across several related checks.

What you will learn

  • Create and organize REST API requests.
  • Validate responses and debug failed checks.
  • Explore collection execution with Newman.

Who this suits

Beginners with a basic understanding of APIs or web applications. Previous Postman experience is not required. Practical work is most useful when you can explain the expected result before running a request.

Before you enroll

Practice against a local or explicitly permitted API with fictional records. Keep tokens and credentials out of shared collections, repositories, screenshots and exported request logs. Match examples with the current Postman interface and plan limits; cloud collaboration or other tools may cost extra. A successful response is only one test outcome: consider invalid input, permissions and repeatable execution before relying on a collection.

Coursera offers paid enrollment or subscription access. Check the enrollment screen for assessment and certificate terms, trials and any financial-aid options. Provider access terms can change; review them before paying.

Put it into practice

Create a collection for a fictional local API. Add one successful and one invalid request, define their expected responses and explain how a failed assertion would help distinguish a test problem from an API defect.
