Explore Packt’s Spring Security 6 course on authentication, authorization, custom login, JDBC, Spring Data and LDAP for Java applications.
Opens on the provider’s site. Check current access and certificate terms there.
Packt introduces Spring application security through an unsafe application and then develops authentication and authorization configurations. Custom login, JDBC, Spring Data and LDAP provide different implementation contexts. It suits Java developers who want to understand how a framework’s security components fit together and are prepared to compare version-specific examples with their own project.
Intermediate Java developers; basic Java programming experience is recommended. The syllabus uses Spring Security 6, so check compatibility with the version in your application.
Practice in a course lab or an application you are authorized to test, using fictional accounts and sample data. Security tools and framework defaults change, so compare examples with current documentation. A passing exercise or AI-generated suggestion does not establish that an application is secure; explain the threat, the control and how you verified its behavior.
Coursera offers paid enrollment or subscription access. Check the enrollment screen for assessment and certificate terms, trials and any financial-aid options. Provider access terms can change; review them before paying.
Secure a fictional endpoint in a practice Spring application. Test an allowed and denied request, then explain the roles of authentication, authorization and password handling in the result.
