This IBM introduction connects cybersecurity history and critical thinking with threat actors, malware and defensive controls. Later modules examine identity, authentication and physical protection, with an applied multifactor-authentication project. It provides a broad technical orientation while remaining a beginning course rather than advanced incident-response training.
The provider recommends basic IT literacy and lists beginner level. Bring enough computer familiarity to focus on the security reasoning behind the examples.
Historical incident examples and numerical threat claims can age. Use current evidence for any real-world risk decision, and keep practical work within an authorized environment.
Coursera lists paid enrollment or subscription access. Check the enrollment screen for included assessments, certificate terms, trials and any financial-aid options. University authorship does not by itself confer admission, academic credit or a professional license.
Draw a login flow with and without a second authentication factor. Explain the attacks the extra factor can reduce and one threat it would not resolve on its own.
