Y Combinator
A free startup-learning resource for founders exploring ideas, customer needs, early product decisions, and consistent progress.
Opens on the provider’s site. Check current access and certificate terms there.
Startup School brings Y Combinator's startup advice into a free learning format. Its focus is the early work of founding a company: choosing a problem, understanding users, making progress, and learning from evidence. The resource is most useful when paired with an actual idea that you can question and revise.
Useful for an aspiring founder or a small team in the early stages of a product. You do not need to have raised funding or formed a company before learning from the material. A willingness to talk to potential users is more valuable than preparing a polished pitch first.
Startup advice often reflects the context in which it was developed. Consider whether a venture-backed technology company's assumptions match your business. Course participation is separate from admission to an accelerator, investment, or any promise that an idea will succeed.
Startup School describes its course as free. Account features and participation options are explained on the source site; no completion certificate is promised by this listing.
Write down the riskiest assumption behind an idea and design a small conversation or experiment that could prove it wrong this week.
