Fred Baptiste examines the behavior behind Python code rather than rushing through a collection of applications. Part 1 focuses on variables and memory, numerical types, functions, closures, decorators and the module system. That makes it a useful comparison for learners who can already write simple programs but want to understand subtle behavior and explain design choices more precisely.
A basic understanding of Python is expected. This is a detailed language course, so it is a better follow-up to a beginner introduction than a first encounter with programming.
This listing covers Part 1 only. Other Deep Dive parts are separate courses, and interpreter-specific behavior should be checked against the Python version you actually run.
Udemy sells course access and may include selected courses in subscription plans. Check the current enrollment terms and curriculum before paying. Its completion certificate records study; it is not a degree or an employment guarantee.
Write a decorator that records how often a function is called. Add an optional label, preserve the wrapped function’s metadata and explain which values live in the enclosing scope.
