React’s official Quick Start for components, JSX, lists, events and shared state, with editable examples in the browser.
Vercel
A short written bridge from JavaScript-driven interfaces to React components, props, state, and the first steps toward Next.js.

React Foundations starts before a full application framework is needed. It explains how interfaces are represented and updated, then introduces React's component model and the concepts that make a Next.js project readable. The sequence is useful because it gives framework vocabulary a concrete JavaScript foundation.
A good bridge for someone who knows basic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript but has not used React. It also works as a refresher before the official dashboard course. You do not need to choose a state library or build an elaborate toolchain to understand these first ideas.
The deliberately small scope leaves substantial React work for later: complex forms, effects, accessibility checks, and testing need additional practice. Work through the examples in order and resist jumping to the dashboard before you can explain how a state change affects the screen.
Free written tutorial without a completion certificate. The lessons can be read directly on the Next.js website.
Extend the example with a second interaction and explain why each value belongs in props, state, or an ordinary variable.
