Django Software Foundation
Django's official polls-app tutorial, introducing projects, requests, models, templates, forms, and the administration interface.

The official Django tutorial builds a small polling application and uses it to explain the framework's main pieces. A modest project is an advantage here: you can trace how a URL reaches a view, how data is represented, and how a response becomes a page without first understanding a large codebase.
A good next step for a Python learner who understands functions, classes, and basic command-line work. You do not need previous Django experience. Read the installation notes carefully so the Python environment and Django version agree with the documentation you are following.
The stable documentation link tracks a supported Django release over time. Pin the documentation version while working through a project so instructions do not move underneath you. A local polls app also leaves production configuration, deployment, and project-specific security decisions unresolved.
Free official written tutorial without a completion certificate. Local development requires a compatible Python installation.
Add an end date for voting and test that an expired poll can still be viewed but cannot accept another vote.
