Course overview

Packt develops Ansible through a broad sequence from environment setup and ad-hoc commands to structured playbooks. Variables, conditionals, templates and error handling support reusable tasks, with Vault adding a credential-protection topic. It suits learners comparing a longer tool-focused curriculum with a short introduction, while taking time to reproduce and inspect each lab workflow.

What you will learn

  • Explore inventories, commands and playbook structure.
  • Use variables, templates and reusable tasks.
  • Investigate error handling and Vault workflows.

Who this suits

Basic Linux command-line skills are recommended. No prior Ansible experience is required, although the provider’s filter labels it intermediate.

Before you enroll

Practice on disposable systems you control and keep credentials out of playbooks. Check Ansible, Python, collection and operating-system versions before reproducing demonstrations. Review permissions and intended changes before executing automation. Cloud accounts and infrastructure usage may cost extra; set budget limits and remove test resources. Teaching examples require independent review before use on a production system.

Coursera offers paid enrollment or subscription access. Check the enrollment screen for assessment and certificate terms, trials and any financial-aid options. Provider access terms can change; review them before paying.

Put it into practice

Draft a lab role with one variable and an error condition, then explain how sensitive values would be supplied without committing them to a repository.
