Course overview

Part I develops language knowledge before the separate exam-practice course. Dialogues and passages introduce additional vocabulary and grammar while reviewing earlier material. It is an intermediate option for learners who can already use the foundations covered in the provider’s first two HSK levels.

What you will learn

  • Develop vocabulary beyond the initial HSK levels.
  • Use grammar in dialogues and short passages.
  • Review earlier Mandarin language patterns.

Who this suits

Intermediate learners with the vocabulary and grammar covered by HSK 1 and HSK 2 or equivalent study.

Before you enroll

Check whether the current syllabus and audio practice match your starting level. HSK preparation courses may use an older exam outline, so compare it with the requirements for your intended exam. Completion does not guarantee a proficiency score.

Coursera offers paid enrollment or subscription access. Check the enrollment screen for assessment and certificate terms, trials and any financial-aid options. Provider access terms can change; review them before paying.

Put it into practice

Write a short fictional daily-life passage and mark where new grammar changes what can be expressed compared with earlier lessons.
