FreeCS50x: Introduction to Computer Science
Harvard’s CS50x introduction to computer science, with challenging problem sets and a final project beyond the lectures.
University of Michigan — Chris Quintana
Explore Michigan’s computational-thinking course through case studies, problem-solving methods and a final project applying the core concepts.

Michigan uses case studies to show computational thinking in different settings, including image analysis and epidemiology. A final project asks learners to apply the concepts themselves. It suits people interested in recognizing computational structure in a problem before deciding whether a particular technical solution is appropriate.
Beginners interested in computational approaches across different disciplines.
Allow time to solve exercises independently rather than only following explanations. Software versions and setup instructions can change; compare them with current documentation. Mathematical and programming foundations develop through repeated practice, and completing an introductory course does not demonstrate expertise in every computing field.
Coursera offers paid enrollment or subscription access. Check the enrollment screen for assessment and certificate terms, trials and any financial-aid options. Provider access terms can change; review them before paying.
Choose a fictional community problem and describe its inputs, assumptions and decision steps, identifying what the proposed model leaves out.
This overview is based on the provider's published information, checked on . It is an editorial assessment, not a claim that we completed the resource. Time filters are approximate study ranges; projects and exercises can take longer.
