Course overview

Fred Trevino concentrates on one difficult finishing problem: making separate shots belong together. Three modules connect planning and visual observation with analysis tools, matching decisions and final refinements. Working through a short scene makes the grading process easier to assess than judging each image in isolation.

What you will learn

  • Analyze differences between related shots
  • Use scopes and selective adjustments
  • Review scene-wide color consistency

Who this suits

The page labels the course Beginner, but its description expects Resolve familiarity and knowledge of scopes, curves, keys and windows. Complete a basic grading course first if these tools are new.

Before you enroll

The four-hour estimate includes activities. Software and suitable footage are separate. Check source color spaces before comparing shots, and distinguish an intentional lighting change from a correction problem. The objective is believable continuity, which does not always mean forcing every image to have identical numerical values.

Put it into practice

Match two shots from an original scene. Play them consecutively, explain the remaining differences and ask another viewer whether any unintended shift interrupts the sequence.
