Course overview

Eight modules develop a spreadsheet for evaluating a property-development project. CFI connects net operating income and capitalization rates with land or construction finance, joint-venture cash flows and analysis outputs. The course gives learners a way to inspect how a change in a project assumption travels through the model.

What you will learn

  • Structure development cash flows in Excel
  • Model financing and joint-venture distributions
  • Compare return measures under changed assumptions

Who this suits

This Intermediate course is aimed at analysts and development-related professionals. Spreadsheet confidence and familiarity with financial concepts will help learners concentrate on the model’s logic.

Before you enroll

The four-hour estimate includes course activities. Access to Excel or a compatible environment is separate. A precise spreadsheet output still depends on uncertain costs, timing and prices; inspect those assumptions and test downside cases. Completion does not establish that a real project is viable or suitable for an individual investor.

Coursera offers paid enrollment or subscription access. Check the enrollment screen for assessment and certificate terms, trials and any financial-aid options. Provider access terms can change; review them before paying.

Put it into practice

Build a fictional development case and change its costs and sales timing. Explain which assumption has the largest effect on the result and test whether the cash-flow calculations remain consistent.
