Course overview

Amazon Web Services introduces AI and machine-learning foundations before connecting them with use cases, responsible practices and generative solutions. Model optimization, governance and prompting extend the sequence. It suits learners who want an official teaching path into AWS AI concepts and can explain why a service or model choice fits a use case before moving into more detailed implementation work.

What you will learn

  • Explore AI, machine learning and practical use cases.
  • Connect generative solutions with model optimization.
  • Review responsible AI, governance and prompt foundations.

Who this suits

Beginner by the provider’s label, with no stated prerequisites. The roughly eight-hour workload includes learning activities. This is AWS-authored teaching on Coursera; its completion certificate is separate from AWS certification.

Before you enroll

A course completion certificate is separate from the AWS certification exam, which requires its own registration and fee. Compare any exam-preparation syllabus with the current official exam guide. Cloud demonstrations can incur AWS charges; review pricing and permissions before creating resources, use fictional data and remove practice resources when finished. Foundational AI knowledge helps with service selection, but completing a course does not by itself demonstrate production engineering experience or guarantee an exam result.

Coursera offers paid enrollment or subscription access. Check the enrollment screen for assessment and certificate terms, trials and any financial-aid options. Provider access terms can change; review them before paying.

Put it into practice

Describe a fictional business task and compare a conventional software solution with an AI option. Identify the data, evaluation and governance questions that must be answered before choosing an AWS service.
